MEET OUR NEW STAFF: PAISLEY MAGNET SCHOOL
Dr. Timothy Blackburn: Ph.D. in English -University of Minnesota; Directed 46 plays and 4 operas, translated/adapted 17 plays, wrote two original scripts. Will teach 8th grade IB-Language A (English) and will direct plays.
Maria Eugenia Bello: Visiting International Instructor from Venezuela; degree in Modern l Languages from Universidad de Carabobo; Will teach all levels of Language B (Spanish) for students, and after-school classes for staff.
Jett Whitmer: Doctor of Jurisprudence, Member of Trial Lawyers Association, Moot Court Team; Attorney, Private Practice; Staff Attorney - Public Defender's Office; Judge Advocate, United States Marine Corps. Will teach 8th grade IB-Social Studies and faculty advisor for Student United Nations.
Linnea Patrick: Masters in Curriculum and Instruction; taught Academically Gifted students for over 20 years. WSFCS NCAGT Teacher of the Gifted, 2002. Will teach IB Language A to 6th graders.
Justin Parker: Wake Forest Univ. graduate in Biology. Foreign Study - London Biology Program at Worrell House in London, England. Will teach 6th grade IB-Science and coach Inter-scholastics.
Dr. Amelie Bartolino: Ph.D. from University of Texas, (Austin) in Anthropology; supervised the removal of hundreds of Coastal Indian bones in Wallis, Texas. Will teach 6th grade IB-Science and help prepare students for National Academic League (NAL) and Science Olympiad Competitions.
Tonya James: Degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina A&T in Greensboro; graduate of NC School of Science and Mathematics. Will teach 8th grade IB-Geometry, IB-Math and Integrated Math.
Katherine Kennedy: Masters Degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro; staff member at cross community center in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Will teach special needs students.
Additional Support:
Kendra Parsons: Former Lead Teacher at Oldtown Child Development; member of Association of Rhythmic Talent Dance Troop and Burke Singers at Winston-Salem State University. Will work with special needs students and teach Dance classes in after school program.
Elizabeth Harden: Former Registrar at Reynolds High School. Knowledge of High School transcripts and scheduling; will be tremendous asset when grades 9 and 10 are added to Middle Years Program. |
