The three 8th grade classes created dances using Ballet movement experiences and using the elements of composition (contrast, repetition, transition, development, climax, resolution). They also performed in the ballet finale dance (45 dancers!)
The three 7th grade classes performed dances they created using Wild Child interactive software.
The opening number included all students - 65 dancers - dancing to music by Barbatuques (a really awesome Brazilian group!).
There were 2 extra dances choreographed by Mrs. Cook and performed by the 8th advanced and 7th advanced dance students.
In addition, the performance included a dance by the 16 students who were selected to attend a workshop with dancers from Paisley and Hill (at Hill on March 3). The artist directing the workshop was Christal Brown of InSpirit Dance Company in NYC, NY. Great collaboration between our schools and the county made this workshop/performance possible.
Parents, staff, and students were thrilled about sharing their talents and hard work! Well done!
