Onterryo Barnes, a student of Janis Henderson at Hill Middle School, won a gold key award at the 28th Annual Eastern/Central NC Region Scholastic Art Awards held from Jan. 22 - Feb. 9 at Barton College in Wilson, N.C.
Onterryo's award winning linoleum block print of a man’s face, called “Big Eyes”, will go to New York for the national competition.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County students received 21 Gold Key awards, 16 merit awards, one portfolio merit and one Barton College Award.
Hill was one of only four Winston-Salem/Forsyth County middle schools that had a regional Scholastic Art Awards winner.
Hill is countywide magnet school for visual and performing arts, and one of 12 magnets in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system.
